Favela Nightclub

"New Nightclub of the Year" - 7th Annual Australian Bar Awards

From a decrepit squat in the corner of Sydney's famously gritty Kings Cross comes Favela - a gorgeously sophisticated bar, restaurant and club in the city's increasingly stylish late night dining and dancing precinct.

Before the clubs owners Dean Dinov and James Moses bought the site and poured $3 million into its redevelopment, the disused building was the quinessential seedy side of Kings Cross. By adopting the Brazilian word for slum, the clubs name at once refers to the place's insalubrious past whilst evoking the creative energy of the teeming cosmopolitan metropolis that is Rio De Janiero, with its famous carnivale, glamorous nightspots and reputation for decandence.

Favela's offers a uniquely complete entertainment experience, from the early evening cocktail through to dinner, dancing and late night snacking in a beautifully designed and cosmopolitan setting - the style of high end club common to New York and Paris, but until now unseen in Sydney.

Favela has a unique pixel mapped ceiling light show controlled by the industry heavy weight "Grand MA" lighting control system. The sound in Favela is pumped through Funktion One speaker and utilises BSS processing for zone and EQ control.

Favela plays host to the worlds best international DJs and is frequented by international celebrities, it is a world class venue with a sound system and light show to match.

It's easy to see why Favela won "New Club of the Year" at the 2007 Australian Bar Awards.
